Twilight

On Friday Morning at 12:01 am November 21, 2008, we, Jared and I took our children and Sarah with us and Dray and Dar to see the first showing of Twilight. We didn't even sit by them, because, "I don't really do things like that with my mom, mom!" Ok so you are 13 who have you done this with and when? We had a great time think they did too. It really did get old, listening to all that giggling whenever Edward breathed. What did I expect?

November's End

I can not believe it is the last day of November! I have so much to be thankful for. My family tops the list. We had such a nice Thanksgiving Day. Jared helped me keep kids busy, he went to pick up the turkeys that Dray and her family cooked in the pit. {I love you Dray, those turkeys were the best.} He vacuumed, set up tables, moved furniture, you name it... all while feeling pretty crummy, cold medicine rocks. Mollie slept in, cuz Nutcracker everything is taking all of her energy. Christian helped me cook and went with my angel mom to buy cat litter when we realized we were out, not good when the whole family is due to arrive in an hour and you have 9 cats.

We ate at 3pm so Naomi and Carlin would be able to come. I can't believe how grown up all of the cousins are. Even with all the food Jordan wanted peanut butter and jelly for his crackers, I should have taken a picture of that so I could tease him later on in life!! Aunt Debbie and Christy came I haven't had Thanksgiving with them in I don't know how many years. Aunt Debbie was able to meet Isaac. Mom J. helped do tons of dishes, Kim helped me dole out the leftovers, and Jared did more dishes and bagged up the leftover turkey while Kim and I watched tv, (fell asleep on the couch.)

Then on Friday I woke up with Jared's cold and pretty much have stayed in bed since except to drive Miss Mollie to Nutcracker when Jared isn't available. Bed can be a great place when the dvr is full of good stuff and the cutest grandson in the world comes to visit at naptime because his dad is painting his room for two days in a row. Taking a nap with him is my idea of Heaven.

Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day. I love those who have served my country and worked so hard to preserve my freedom and keep my family safe. Thanks Dad, Thanks Dad J. You are all a great example to me and our family.

Today I took Christian to his first official guitar lesson. Ok, so it was great, he had fun, she loved him even took lots of extra time with him, I cleaned out the van while he was in there pickin and a strummin. Bottom line, I have to find him a new teacher!! She came out and said he's great, give me one more lesson and he'll know all I know and he'll be teaching me. Great, I told him too bad he had to give me till the new year, Sheesh how long did it take me to get this gig lined up!! Poor kid. Anyway he has been playin new stuff all evening and Man, is he fun, now I have songs that I can sing when he plays. Christmas is going to be great, this kid is amazing!!

Mollie had her dress rehearsal for dancing at Disneyland tonight. We are leaving tomorrow for our anual trip to watch her cut a rug with the rest of Jeanne's Power Force Dancers. This year we only have three kids to take and this should be Stephan's last year as a kid. They aren't kidding when they say how fast the kids leave the nest once they start leaving.

I called my sis to tell her that I ordered the rolls for Thanksgiving today since I knew we would want homemade ones and I don't want to spend my day making them since I am the slowest breadmaker ever in existence. HEEEE HEEE She thought that was great. Love you Sis!!

Thoughts on a Monday

Today my man came home for lunch, thanks babe it was great to see your handsome face. And it was funny that you spilled on your shirt and had to change.
My favorite talk, if I had one from October's General Conference was Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's talk. Angels are one of my favorite subjects to learn about, study, and consider right now. He said, "I testify of angels, both the heavenly and the mortal kind. In doing so I am testifying that God never leaves us alone, never leaves us unaided in the challenges that we face. And always there are those angels who come and go all around us, seen and unseen, know and unknown, mortal and immortal." I can think of no more powerful witness than to have this added to the witnesses I have already received. Angels are real they help us and Love us. I believe we can even be angels to those around us and that to me is fantastic.
I recommend any book by Allison Dubois for learning about angels, she herself is one in my book!
These are pictures of my very favorite Angels!! My Family. Me, Carlin, Christian, Mollie, Sister Warren (on the day she went home, we miss you), Naomi (Carlin's wife and our daughter in law), Jared holding Isaac (our grandson), and Stephan. And then of course my favorite angel of them all, Isaac.

Sunday Blessings

Today it was Fast Sunday for us because we had Stake Conference last Sunday. It was actually a State wide Stake Conference broadcast from SLC. I love the feeling in our ward on Fast Sunday, enjoying those who bear testimony of our Savior's love and Heavenly Father's care over us is a warm and tender feeling. My Sunbeams were very sweet in class as usual, we learned about reverence. Then... they were out of control in Sharing, Singing time as usual. I asked one of them, where does your bottom go? "On my chair" please sit then, "No!" Wiggle wiggle wiggle... he went to his mom with Bro. Sunderhaus.
I enjoyed my family today and even made a big pot of soup for dinner. Soup was great because believe it or not it was actually chilly outside because some wind and clouds came through this afternoon. I can hardly wait for colder weather this business of 95 degree weather in November is not for me.
We enjoyed a short visit from Carlin, Naomi, Isaac before we went to church, theirs was already over.
The kittens, four, are six weeks tomorrow and running all over the place. I need to find homes for them soon they are so darn cute and give us all lots of smiles and laughs especially when they are around Johny he is so interest but afraid of them which is so funny to watch a 60 lb dog shake because a tiny kitten comes near his bed.
Stephan is ready to send in his mission papers. This is so exciting and harder than I thought to let everything be on his timetable.
One of my favorite things about today was the email I received from my high school, college friend Kimberly. We are reconnecting and this is such a very happy thing for me. Love you Kimmy!!
Thanks to all my blogger friends who commented on my first day you all made me smile.

Elder Wirthlin

In the Saturday afternoon session of Oct. General Conference, Elder Wirthlin said, "He {Jesus Christ} who descended below all things will come to our aid. He will comfort and uphold us. He will strengthen us in our weakness and fortify us in our distress. He will make weak things become strong. ...The simple secret is this: put your trust in the Lord, do your best, then leave the rest to Him."
The Savior knows us, he loves us, he is our friend, I add my witness to Elder Wirthlin's.

My First Post Ever

So, I feel pretty silly but my hands are shaking. This is my very first POST on my very own blog. I love reading blogs so I thought I'd contribute.
